Bunned Up: Curly Meets Sleek

I’m a fan of buns.

Doesn’t matter if they’re messy, sleek, high, tousled or carefree – I’m for them, and am always trying to figure out how to do (or tweak) these styles to my liking. Whether kinky, curly or straightened, buns are the perfect summer style to have a little fun with.

I’ve done a post on how they are great protective styles (to defend your ends from breakage or harsh weather), but this post is strictly for the hell of it. Strictly for bun lovers.

Here’s youtube video I liked by NaturalManeNYC – kind of looks like a play on the Southern Tease bun, but with the help of a scrunchie (possibly for hold and volume?). I’ll definitely be trying this out too.


My hair has grown out quite a bit, so as my layers are annoying me less and less – I’ve been rocking different pony and bun styles.

Summer Workout Regimen: Locks to the Dry Cleaners?

In the midst of my summer workout regimen, I’ve been thinking of different methods to refresh my locks daily.

Rather than washing my hair everyday before work (I exercise in the mornings), I need a quick alternative for the days I don’t feel like wetting my hair.

One product I’d like to try is Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser – you simply spray it on your roots, let it sit for a while then brush the product out of hair to freshen your ‘do.

I’ve also heard that some ladies use dry cleansers when they want to keep straight styles longer (presses or blow-outs), but don’t want limp, weighed down hair due to buildup.

I’ll be buying this in the near future and will be sure to share my thoughts.

In the meantime, please share your opinions. Have you tried any dry shampoos or cleansers? How was the experience? Also, what’s your hair regimen for workouts?
